Community Update:

Bakery Square — Larimer Proposed TRID Investments

The Larimer Consensus Group the (RCO) Registered Community Organization joins in partnership with Walnut Capital and URA to bring new development to Larimer Community through Transit Revitalization Improvement District (TRID).

These projects are inspired by the Larimer Community Vision Plan, which was completed in 2020 with the input of residents and other community stakeholders. These projects include funding for: affordable housing, infrastructure improvements, public space improvements, workforce development programs, and funding for future projects.

What is TRID?

TRID, an abbreviation for “Transit Revitalization Improvement District”, was created by the Pennsylvania Legislature to allow anticipated real estate tax dollars to be used for targeted investment to improve communities.

How does TRID work?

After an initial TRID study, the TRID plan is presented to the city council, the county council, and the school board before making its way to ELTRIDRA.

What is ELTRIDRA?

The East Liberty Revitalization Investment and Redevelopment Authority is a Public Authority made up of a 5 member board with a wide range of representatives. ELTRIDRA oversees East Liberty TRID Operations and Investments.

The goal of these projects is to remedy the effects of decades of isolation and disconnection in the area. Our targeted investments will increase public connectivity, improve public transportation and provide more publicly accessible spaces to all.
